GOV Officer positions to fill

Are you feeling restless during quarantine? Do you need an outlet for that pent up energy?  Then Gay Ottawa Volleyball (GOV) wants you! GOV is searching for candidates to serve in leadership positions over the upcoming 2020-21 season.

The GOV Board of Directors is accepting applications for officer roles. The roles being filled are for President, Vice-President (Operations), Vice-President (Finance) and Vice-President (Administration).

Officer positions are not elected positions and officers are not required to be board members. Officers are appointed by the board and make-up GOV’s senior management team. They are responsible for supervising the league’s activities. Officer positions have a one-year commitment from June 30, 2020 to June 30 2021.

  • The President is the chief executive officer providing overall leadership to the organization.
  • The Vice-President (Operations) oversees core programming. This includes league, drop-in and skills development.
  • The Vice-President (Finance) is responsible for financial management and providing advice on financial issues.
  • The Vice-President (Administration) is responsible for the organization’s back office. This includes keeping records and maintaining information tools. The position also serves as secretary to the board.
